GARAGE-DEPRIVED, REJOICE:, GARAGE POINTER DEBUTS PEER-TO-PEER GARAGE SHARING PLATFORM

Garage Pointer easily and efficiently matches the person with unused or underused garage space with the collector car owner - putting cash in the pocket of one while solving the storage problem of the other.

PALM SPRINGS, Calif. - June 1, 2016 - The next big thing in the growing peer-to-peer economy is Garage Pointer (www.garagepointer.com) a platform that matches vehicle owners with safe, reasonably priced and convenient garage space available for long and short term rental.

"One of the biggest demographic trends of the last 10 years is the movement of people back to cities, but one of the greatest challenges of an urban lifestyle is parking," says co-founder Donald Osborne, a professional classic vehicle appraiser and TV personality. "Finding safe, convenient and reasonably priced parking is problematic, particularly for people who own high-end luxury cars and collectible automobiles. We created Garage Pointer to address the needs of these people, for collectors who have simply run out of space in their own garages, for boat owners and anyone else looking for convenient storage."

Rather than renting a storage unit that may be expensive, inconveniently located or worse, located in an unsafe area like a flood plain or high-crime area, Garage Pointer introduces vehicle owners to their neighbors who have safe and convenient garage space they’re not using.

It’s a win-win for both sides of the transaction explains Osborne: "Vehicle-owners get to garage their cars close to where they live, and garage-owners get to unlock an income stream from unused space." Classic car owners who wouldn’t qualify for coverage without a garage, can also now insure their vehicles at vastly lower agreed-value classic car rates, keeping them safe and off the street."

Garage Pointer is a Delaware corporation. It launches in beta form this month in California, Washington and Oregon as a free service. After the conclusion of the 60 day beta test period, the service will roll out nationally and the renter and garage-owner will pay a flat connection fee of $20 each when a garage is selected by a renter. The listing itself will always be free. For media inquiries, contact media@garagepointer.com or David Kinney at 703-624-1705.
